ABOUT
It's all about making an informed decision before going out and seeing these great, but unknown, grassroots bands live. Instead of trying to decypher what 'metalliclowncorefunkapeldicspacerock' actually is, or what 'Badly Drawn Boy meets Cradle of Filth' sounds like, preview the music before you go. Don't spend your money only to realise it 'aint your thing'. It's what the traditional flyer cant tell you.
Listen2Listings.com combines every gig listing with an mp3 sample of the bands playing that gig. Its Quick, Easy and just makes sense really. After all, it's the music that matters. Browse untill you hear the right gig for you.
Punters, you can sign in and you can see how far every gig is from you, find out more information on the bands and receive updates on your favorite new band's gigs and news when you 'fan a band'.
For all you gigging bands, you can now promote your gigs with the most relevant information you can give to a potential punter. Let them hear what you actually do. Give your perfect audience the means to find you. Also L2L makes it easy to promote out of town gigs. ...oh and just in case you didn't have time to design a flyer, there's a ready made flyer with all your event information on it ready to be downloaded in a convenient, 4x A6 flyers on A4, format. Just download either a Black and White or Colour PDF flyer and print it out. I recommend the Black and White flyer be printed on luminous paper.
About me,
Hi, I'm Jamie, L2L is my baby. I've been in gigging bands for about 7 years now, I've been a music promoter and I've run a few fanzines in my time. Listen2Listings is what came out of sitting on the door of the venue with no people coming in. This gave me time to think... 'If only punters knew what was actually going on tonight'. Basically, if people could find unknown bands that play music they like, browse a selection of events and easily listen to the bands playing and then go to the gig they'll enjoy the most.
L2L has been in the pipeline for about 6 months now. It went live on the 07/07/2007. What i'd like to see is... Punters being more adventurous with what live grassroots bands they go to see, not just following hype, going to gigs because they'll love the music, bands able to easily and effectively promote their gigs cheaply (L2L is free) ;-) Bands actually being able to promote out of town gigs without having to turn up a day in advance handing out flyers.
Pretty much i hope this helps the live music scene and gets punters to the right gigs for them really. Hope it helps, Let me know if you have any thoughts. If you'd like to help by promoting L2L on your site I'd be happy (and very appreciative) to send you a Banner.
cheers for visiting

About George, L2L Web Developer
Okay, big thanks to:
- Jamie - For being so very patient while I learned ruby on rails and everything else that went with it.
- Terry and Jon at shaggy consultants for waiting for every "tomorrow" and "next week" that I so foolishly dished out, thinking I could do this in a week -Really looking forward to getting our sites up with you guys!
- Jon again, for moral, and psychological support + lots of help when I got stuck ;-)
- Eoin and co at Hamfatter who had to put up with me playing around with the servers and stuff
- The Rails and flex community, who helped me learn ruby on rails and flex in 6 months - youy guys have been great, I WILL be giving back!
- Mi naranja media, mi vida, mi felizidad: Suzanne - without you my life would be asp.net, and I would be a windows PC ;-)
This is my first full fledged web app in Rails, and I can say that I'm aiming to make many more. Never before has web development been so much fun (for me anyhow).
If you know anyone who might be interested in my rails, flex, actionscript, flash or flash communication server skills then please email me at george AT chrysaliswebdesign DOT com
Well, I hope you enjoy using this site and that it helps you find the music your looking for - Jamie is certainly passionate about that, I reckon you're in good hands!
Peace out web-surfer!
